Thank you for visiting my blog – Tired of Diets. I strive to uncover and present delectable food that is easy, fast, and nourishing. Come along on this journey as I reveal future findings. In the United States, the rise in obesity and health problems linked to our diet is becoming alarming. A significant portion of our diet lacks nutrients and is inadequately prepared. In essence, the majority of processed food is not good for you. One crucial rule from a particular diet I adhered to was: if you can’t read the ingredients, it’s best to avoid eating it! What is in your kitchen cupboards?

What do you need for your recipes?

Having the right tools and ingredients in your cupboard is super important. Especially if you are trying to eat healthy. When I fall of the wagon is when there is no good food available. Take a look in your cupboards and pantry to see what types of things you have. Here is a list of kitchen tools that are a must for me.

  • Spatula
  • Rubber Spatula
  • Wooden spoons
  • Slotted spoons
  • Ladel
  • Screen strainer
  • Collander
  • Cutting board

Next, check and see what dry food items you have. Depending on the type of diet you are wanting to follow will determine what type of items you should keep available at all times. This list might be a little large, but I will try and organize it into categories. Then check it out and decide what is best for your kitchen pantry. This is what my staples are.

  • Peanut butter
  • Clarified butter (see recipe)
  • Mayonnaise (I use Vegan mayo, however not vegan)
  • Cheese (this could be sliced, shredded, or block cheese)
  • Milk (this could be coconut or almond milk for a healthier choice)
  • Bread (this could be keto friendly or higher in fiber for a healthier choice)

What about spices and seasoning?

Spices are a wonderful thing! You can take just about any bland meal and spruce it up with the right spices. There are so many that unless you are a chef or someone who grows all these wonderful herbs, there is a lot to know. I am still learning when and how to use certain spices. Unfortunately, you can use them wrong and they can be a turn off. From apples to zucchini we will do our best to pass on what we learn through our experiences.
